Main Purpose of the Position
To control and supervise the day to  day operation of the Workshop Teams ensuring all customer and operational  targets are met
Key Responsibilities:
  • Effective coordination/supervision of all Service Personnel and teams, to  ensure all Service and Customer requirements are met.
  • Regular (daily, weekly & monthly) reviews of team performance with  Engineers and Technicians , to ensure performance targets are being met · In  conjunction with the Quickserve Champion lead the implantation and ongoing  performance improvement of the Quickserve Process within Mining operations and  our customers
  • Liaise with Customers and efficiently schedule service work (overhauls,  warranty and chargeable repairs) to meet all published targets
  • Accurate and timely completion of Service Documentation, meeting Minimum  Claims Documentation Requirements (MCDR) · Create customer loyalty through  pro-active communication, to include daily job progress reports on ongoing  service interventions · Highlight ‘upsell’ opportunities to the Customer and  ensure that any ‘rejected’ opportunities are evident on the Service Worksheet  before Customer signature · Provides Technical Support to all relevant staff,  customers and dealers as required in conjunction with Field Controller
  • Assist Controller the recruitment and development of all Service personnel  including Trainees, in accordance with Company procedures
  • Lead, manage and motivate employees, including control and discipline in  accordance with Company procedures and in conjunction with the Field Controller  and HR dept
  • Ensure the welfare and equitable treatment of all staff
  • Ensure Cummins & customer HS&E standards are met & enforced at  all times on both Cummins & customer sites
  • Ensure all Company and customer risk assessments, method statements &  contractor procedures are enforced
  • Take reasonable precautions to protect own safety and that of others. Ensure  that self and others use PPE. Report all hazards and accidents. Ensure  compliance with all Company procedures in respect of Health and Safety
  • Maintain and secure all Company assets, including department vehicles and  tooling
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable government and company environmental  regulations and ensure business is conducted in an environmentally responsible  way
  • Implement all initiatives as required by the Management Team and other  duties as identified by your Line Manager
Experience Required:
  • Must be able to motivate people at all levels Essential
  • Proven man-management skills. Essential
  • Technical knowledge gained in a similar industry Essential
  • Minimum of 5 years experience diagnosing and repairing of diesel engines  Essential
  • Mechanical / Electrical experience Desirable
  • Electrical Theory and Troubleshooting Desirable
Qualification
  • OND/HND Engineering or City & Guilds or equivalent  (Mechanical/Electrical) Essential
  • Completion of Diesel Engine or similar Apprenticeship Preferred
  • Industry recognised Technical Training Preferred Cummins Qualification  Courses Preferred
